SJV is building a school garden! We are running a two week campaign to help raise funds for the garden program. Your donation will go towards things like planter beds and garden tools, as well as hiring professionals to build certain pieces of the garden.

A donation is not required for your student to participate in the garden program. Donating is completely optional. ANY donation is greatly appreciated.

However, if you donate $250+, your family (or business) name will go on the Bronze Donor Plaque that will live in the garden for the rest of time!

Your children (or grandchildren) will LOVE seeing familiar names on the plaque when they visit the garden!

Why do we want a school garden?

• All students will participate in hands-on science lessons in this new “outdoor classroom.”
• Children will explore science concepts by examining the web of interactions amongst living and nonliving things that sustain life.
• Gardening encourages children to love our earth while building community.
• Research has shown that participating in a garden program increases children’s interest in eating healthy and contributes knowledge on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
